Gas Excitation Spectra


The first bar of gas was white (He)
·         When putting on the diffraction rating glasses, there were multiple spectrums of color (like a rainbow) that went out from the bar. The two bars that are directly to the left and right of the bar were made up of several lines ranging from blue to red. The strongest were green and orange (and maybe blue).
The second was pink (Ar)
·         The two bars that are directly to the left and right of the bar were made up of several lines ranging from blue to red. The strongest were the blue/purple ones (with a little bit of orange ones).
The third was orange (Ne)
·         The two bars that are directly to the left and right of the bar were made up of lots of very distinct bars (green-red) and all the others were a bit more blurry and went from blue to red with the strongest being the yellows, oranges and reds.
The forth was pink (N)
·         The bars were much thicker and close together. the colors were all quite strong from purple to red.
The fifth was Carbon Dioxide
·         There were lots of little bars with one from each color being bring 0 one purple, one blue, green, yellow and red.
