Water

Water s made up of hydrogen and oxygen. It is a covalent compound. Whater molecules are shaped like the follwing images:
A water molecule is an "L" shape; somewhat bent with 2 hydrogen attached to one oxygen.
Water sticks to itself because H2O is a polar molecule.  The charge on one part of the atom is negative and the other part is positive.  Since water is polar, it attracts other polar molecules. Water does not stick to oil molecules because they are non-polar. Polar and non-polar molecules repel one another.
